Ok, so there are a lot of really slimey ways that people try to market products and services online – this is fact. But in my books, there is one that stands above them all.
Giving posts or videos titles that are completely contradictory to the content just to drive clicks. Ultimately this tactic backfires on the person who uses it, but it’s still one of the most common things to see.
It’s really discouraging to see people promoting reputable programs using this tactic, because it ultimately gives everyone else a bad name and tarnishes the program. If your title implies you have negative comments to say, then say it! Don’t lure people in with a title like “Why <this program> is a scam” and then tell people about how great it is, you will lose all credibility and ruin your own chances of anything positive coming.
Keep this in mind the next time you want to create a slimey title for a shady review – don’t do it. Be genuine, don’t lie, and don’t beat around the bush.
